#123: Guest Starring Comic Steve Byrne
Gentlemen,
Steve Byrne [Twitter] is a wonderful and hilarious stand-up comic (who might just become a sitcom star in 2012.)
You have may have seen Steve on Conan, The Tonight Show, Comedy Central, on Vince Vaughn’s Wild West Comedy Tour, or on his most recent hour special, “The Byrne Identity.” Steve and I have been working on a sitcom pilot (me as Writers Assistant) for TBS written by Steve and former Gentlemen’s Club guest Rob Long. The show is produced by Vince Vaugh, Peter Billingsley, and stars Dan Loria (Wonder Years,) Brian Doy-le-Murray, and stand-ups Owen Benjmain, Roy Wood Jr., and Ahmed Ahmed. It’s super funny. I promise!
On this week’s podcast episode of The Gentlemen’s Club, recorded live from the Warner Brothers lot, Steve and I talk about his having been called out by Dane Cook, appearing on black TV, going back to Africa, and about the sitcom pilot, “Sullivan & Son.”
